About my network in Cluj, ROMANIA(obsolete since 01.09.2006):

Using 2 tin can antennas(cantenna), one with funnel, i archieved a 80% signal strenght, over 90% signal quality over a distance of 1.4 km. Wireless never been so usefull before!

Hardware components were extremely low cost, like MENTOR WL-PCI (16€ - rtl8180L based, 20dBm transmit power), MENTOR WL-APRII (41€ - rtl8181 based 17dBm transmit power), 2 Planet WL-SMA-6 6 meter long F-TYPE - REV-SMA 3.5 db loss cable (2x 20€).

I intend to search other people wishing to connect to this network from Cluj-Napoca's Gheorgheni residential area. The purpose was to offer some connectivity to houses in this area not covered by "retele de cartier".
